Creating the Driver Parameters File for Batch Mode Operation

You can apply driver parameters for one HBA to other HBAs in the system using the Driver Parameters tab. When you define parameters for an HBA, you create a .dpv file. The .dpv file contains the parameters for that HBA. After you create the .dpv file, HBAnyware enables you to apply the .dpv file parameters to multiple HBAs in the system, thereby simplifying multiple HBA configuration.

To create the .dpv file:

  1. Start HBAnyware.

  2. Select the HBA whose parameters you want to apply to other HBAs from the discovery-tree.

  3. Select the Driver Parameters tab. Set any driver parameters you wish.  Refer to the Set Driver Parameters help topic for more information on setting parameters.

  1. After you define the parameters for the selected HBA, click Save Settings. The Select Driver Parameter File dialog box appears. Use the dialog box to to select where to save the file or to rename the file. Click Save. The Save Driver Parameters dialog box appears.

  1. The two radio buttons allow you to choose the type of parameters to save. You can save all parameters or only those parameters whose current values differ from their corresponding default values. A list of the saved parameters and their current values is displayed in Parameters to be saved box.

  2. Click Save.
